God’s Gifts Are Meant for Eternity

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven.”
    — Matthew 6:19–20

Every good thing we possess is a gift from God.

Our health, our strength, our talents, our homes, our families, our friendships, and even the opportunities placed before us each day come from His loving hand. We often speak about what we have “earned,” but behind every accomplishment stands the God who gave us life, the ability to work, and the blessings that made success possible.

The Book of James reminds us:

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.”
    — James 1:17

Because everything belongs to God, we are not owners—we are stewards.

God entrusts us with His gifts for a time. He asks us to use them wisely, to care for our families, to strengthen our communities, to help those in need, and above all, to glorify Him.

    When success comes, thank Him.

    When prosperity comes, thank Him.

When health is strong, thank Him.

And if one day He chooses to take those blessings back, thank Him again for allowing you to enjoy them for however long He saw fit.

Job understood this profound truth after losing nearly everything he possessed:

“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
    — Job 1:21

Those words are not easy to live, but they reveal a heart that trusted God more than possessions.

    Keep Your Eyes on Eternity

    Life moves quickly.

The house we build will someday belong to someone else.

The car we proudly drive will eventually wear out.

    Money comes and goes.

Even our earthly bodies grow older.

    Everything around us is temporary.

Only one thing lasts forever—our eternal soul.

That is why Jesus continually reminded His followers to keep their hearts fixed on Heaven.

Every decision we make should be measured against one simple question:

Will this help bring me closer to God and prepare me for eternity?

When we keep our eyes on Heaven, disappointments lose much of their sting, and successes become opportunities to praise God rather than ourselves.

    Living for the Eternal Reward

It is interesting how faithfully we obey the rules of our employer.

We arrive at work on time.

    We follow company policies.

    We complete assignments.

We strive to do our best because, at the end of the week, we expect a paycheck.

Yet that paycheck may be spent before the day is over. Bills are paid, groceries are bought, expenses arise, and the money is gone.

How strange it is that many people work so diligently for rewards that disappear, while giving so little attention to the reward that never fades.

God has already shown us the path to eternal life.

    He calls us to:

    • Keep His Commandments.
    • Love God with all our heart.
    • Love our neighbor as ourselves.
    • Practice humility, charity, patience, honesty, forgiveness, and purity.
    • Receive His grace through prayer and the sacraments.
    • Live lives that reflect Christ.

Unlike an earthly employer, God does not ask us to earn His love. He freely offers it. But He does ask us to respond with faithful, obedient hearts.

The Virtues Build the Road to Heaven

The saints remind us that holiness is not usually found in dramatic moments but in ordinary faithfulness.

    Each act of kindness…

    Each quiet prayer…

    Each sacrifice made for another…

    Each temptation resisted…

    Each word of forgiveness…

These become stepping stones leading toward Heaven.

Virtue shapes our character until we begin to resemble Christ Himself.

The more we practice love, humility, generosity, courage, patience, and faith, the more prepared our souls become for eternal life.

    Our Greatest Investment

Wise investors look for what will produce lasting returns.

Jesus tells us that the greatest investment we can ever make is not in the stock market, real estate, or a retirement account.

Our greatest investment is in eternity.

    Every prayer offered with love…

    Every act of mercy…

    Every soul encouraged…

    Every sacrifice made for God…

These are treasures that can never be lost.

They accompany us beyond the grave.

    A Final Thought

God has blessed each of us in different ways.

    Cherish those blessings.

    Use them for His glory.

    Love your family.

    Serve your community.

Help those who cannot repay you.

And if life changes tomorrow, remember to thank God for every blessing He allowed you to enjoy.

Above all, keep your eyes, your mind, and your soul fixed on Heaven.

Everything else will one day pass away.

But eternal life with God will never end.

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?”
    — Mark 8:36

May we spend our lives not merely earning a paycheck that lasts a day, but pursuing the Kingdom that lasts forever.

  • Helping Families Save Money, Build a Better Future, and Create Additional Income—One Person at a Time

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” — Proverbs 16:3

One of the greatest blessings God gives us is the opportunity to help other people.

Sometimes that help comes through a kind word. Sometimes it comes through prayer. Sometimes it comes through lending a helping hand.

And sometimes it comes by introducing someone to an opportunity that can improve their financial situation while blessing their family.

Throughout Scripture, we see that God often works through ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. He opens doors where we least expect them and provides opportunities that allow us to serve others while being good stewards of the gifts He has entrusted to us.

Recently I came across a program that caught my attention because it combines practical everyday value with powerful business-building tools.

    Among the benefits are: –

1,000 email leads from someone who genuinely wants to help you succeed. –

A Giant Discount Savings Portal with discounts on airfare, cruises, hotels, shopping, home products, and much more. –

An expanding library of more than 96 e-books filled with valuable information. –

A professional email autoresponder that works with your lead capture pages and even allows you to import up to 5,000 contacts. –

Your own custom lead capture page with an integrated lead database. –

A business opportunity that offers the possibility of creating meaningful monthly income for people who are willing to learn, work consistently, and serve others.

Notice I used the word possibility. No honest business can promise success. Just as a farmer cannot guarantee a harvest without planting, watering, and caring for the crop, no opportunity guarantees income without effort, learning, perseverance, and patience.

Success comes from faithfully doing the work day after day. For many families, retirees, and people living on fixed incomes, even a modest additional income can relieve financial pressure, provide peace of mind, and create opportunities to bless others.

That is what appeals to me most. My desire has never simply been to help people make more money. My desire is to help people become better stewards of what God has entrusted to them, strengthen their families, assist their churches and communities, and have greater freedom to help those in need.

Imagine what could happen if thousands of Christians had additional resources to support their churches, missionaries, food banks, pregnancy centers, homeless shelters, and families facing difficult times.

Money itself is neither good nor evil. The Bible reminds us that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil—not money itself. When placed in the hands of faithful people with servant hearts, financial resources can become powerful tools for doing God’s work.

Jesus taught us: > “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” > — Matthew 6:33

That verse has guided my life for many years. Whenever I consider a new opportunity, I ask one simple question: Can this help people while bringing glory to God? If the answer is yes, then it deserves thoughtful consideration.

Whether you decide this particular opportunity is right for you or not, I encourage you to pray about every financial decision. Ask the Lord for wisdom, seek good counsel, and never stop looking for ways to use your talents and resources to serve others.

When we place God first, become faithful stewards, and use our blessings to bless others, amazing things can happen.

May God bless you, your family, and every good work He has prepared for you. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” — Colossians 3:23

Results are not guaranteed. Success in any business depends on individual effort, consistency, skill, and the willingness to learn and serve others. Always evaluate any opportunity carefully before participating. :::

Rick, I have one additional thought. Knowing your heart and the mission behind The Good News Newsletter, I think this article could become much more than a business promotion. It could be a recurring feature called “Faith & Finances” or “Biblical Stewardship.” Each article could begin with Scripture, teach a biblical principle about stewardship, generosity, or wise use of resources, and then naturally introduce an opportunity that aligns with serving others. That approach would fit beautifully with your ministry of helping people spiritually while also helping them practically. I think it would resonate strongly with your readers.

  • The Good Newsletter

Issue #1 – Welcome to a New Beginning

Welcome to The Good News Newsletter!

Thank you for joining us for the very first issue of The Good News Newsletter.

In a world where headlines often focus on conflict, division, and discouragement, we believe there is still plenty of good news worth sharing. Every day, ordinary people perform acts of kindness, communities come together to help one another, and God continues to work quietly in the hearts of His people.

This newsletter was created to shine a light on that good news.

Our goal is simple: to provide a weekly dose of hope, faith, encouragement, and inspiration.

Whether you are facing challenges, celebrating blessings, or simply looking for a positive perspective, we hope these messages help strengthen your faith and brighten your day.

    A MESSAGE OF HOPE

    Life is not always easy.

We all experience setbacks, disappointments, health concerns, financial struggles, and moments of uncertainty. Yet throughout history, people of faith have discovered that difficult seasons often become the very moments that shape us into stronger, wiser, and more compassionate individuals.

    As Scripture reminds us:

“And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God.” – Romans 8:28

God does not promise a life free from difficulties. He promises that He will walk with us through them.

No matter what you may be facing today, remember that your story is still being written. The chapter you are living now is not the end of the book.

    GOOD NEWS IN OUR COMMUNITIES

Every day there are people making a difference.

Volunteers serve meals to the hungry.

    Neighbors help neighbors.

Churches provide support for families in need.

Small businesses create opportunities and jobs.

Healthcare workers care for the sick.

    Teachers inspire future generations.

These acts may never make national headlines, but they are changing lives one person at a time.

Good news is happening all around us if we take the time to look for it.

    FAITH CORNER

One of the greatest truths of Christianity is that God loves each of us personally.

The Feast of Corpus Christi reminds us that Christ continues to give Himself completely to His people.

Christianity is not simply a set of beliefs or rules. At its heart, it is a love story—a loving God reaching out to His children and inviting them into a deeper relationship with Him.

When life becomes difficult, remember that you are never alone.

God knows your struggles, your hopes, your fears, and your dreams.

And He walks beside you every step of the journey.

    THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE

Perform one unexpected act of kindness this week.

Call someone who may be lonely.

    Send an encouraging message.

Offer a prayer for someone in need.

    Help a neighbor.

    Volunteer your time.

You may never know how much that small act means to another person.

Kindness has a way of multiplying far beyond what we can see.

    LOOKING AHEAD

Future editions of The Good News Newsletter will include:

    • Inspiring faith-based articles

    • Stories of hope and perseverance

    • Community highlights

    • Encouraging reflections

    • Practical ways to strengthen faith and serve others

    • Special resources and recommendations

We are excited to share this journey with you.

    FINAL THOUGHT

Never underestimate the power of hope.

A kind word can change a day.

A prayer can change a life.

A faithful heart can change a community.

Together we can help spread the Good News—one person, one family, and one community at a time.

May God bless you and your loved ones.

  • Freedom Purchased Through Sacrifice

As We Celebrate Memorial Day Let be Very Aware of Our Freedom

Today we honor all those who have laid down their lives for our freedom, especially the brave men and women who gave everything on the battlefield. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is precious and often comes at a great cost.

From the founding of nations to the protection of families and communities, countless heroes have stood courageously against evil, oppression, and injustice. Many never returned home. Their willingness to serve and sacrifice gave future generations the opportunity to live in peace, worship freely, speak openly, and pursue life with hope.

As Christians, we are reminded of the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ. At the Last Supper, Jesus said, “This is my body given up for you.” On the Cross, He laid down His life for the freedom of all humanity — freedom from sin, fear, hatred, and death itself.

True freedom begins with the right to life. Every human life is sacred because each person is created in the image of God. The sacrifices of soldiers protect earthly freedoms, while the sacrifice of Christ offers eternal freedom and salvation.

Both acts of sacrifice teach us powerful lessons about love, courage, service, and responsibility. We should never take these gifts lightly. Freedom calls us to care for one another, defend the weak, seek justice, and live with gratitude.

Memorial Day is more than a holiday. It is a time to remember. A time to pray for the families who lost loved ones. A time to honor veterans who served with courage. And a time to reflect upon the incredible love shown by Jesus Christ, who willingly gave His life so that we might truly live.

May we never forget those who sacrificed for our freedom. May we use that freedom wisely, with compassion, faith, and respect for all human life. And may we always remember the words of Christ:

“This is my body given up for you.”

Through sacrifice comes freedom. Through love comes victory.

  • A $10 Opportunity That Can Create Real Change

Helping Families, Small Businesses, and Rural Communities Grow Together

In today’s economy, many people are searching for a simple and affordable way to create extra income. Families are struggling with rising bills, rural hospitals are fighting to stay open, and small businesses are looking for new ways to survive and grow.

What if a one-time $10 investment could become the beginning of something much bigger?

    The idea is simple.

You join with a one-time payment of just $10 and personally recruit four active people. Those four people then recruit four active people of their own, and the process continues to grow from person to person.

Many people can easily start with family members, social media friends, coworkers, church groups, or personal contacts.

    How the Process Works

When you recruit your four active people:

    • Your second and fourth recruits go to your sponsor.
    • Your first and third recruits stay connected to you.

At first glance, giving two recruits to your sponsor may seem unusual, but this structure is what creates the powerful duplication effect that allows everyone to grow together.

As your team members recruit their own people, the growth begins to multiply.

    • First level earnings can bring in approximately $16.
    • As duplication continues, the potential increases to $32, then $64, and beyond.

The concept is built around teamwork, sharing, and helping others succeed as the network expands.

A Tool for Helping Small Businesses and Rural Hospitals

Imagine walking into a struggling small business or a rural hospital with only a handful of employees and introducing them to an affordable opportunity that could help generate additional income.

A business owner or administrator could:

    • Join the program
    • Invite employees or supporters to participate
    • Create an additional stream of income
    • Build stronger financial stability for their organization

As participation grows, the financial impact could grow as well.

    Saint Joseph, Husband of Mary

Saint of the Day for March 19

    (? – ?)

    Saint Joseph’s Story

The Bible pays Saint Joseph the highest compliment: he was a “just” man. The quality meant a lot more than faithfulness in paying debts.

When the Bible speaks of God “justifying” someone, it means that God, the all-holy or “righteous” one, so transforms a person that the individual shares somehow in God’s own holiness, and hence it is really “right” for God to love him or her. In other words, God is not playing games, acting as if we were lovable when we are not.

By saying Joseph was “just,” the Bible means that he was one who was completely open to all that God wanted to do for him. He became holy by opening himself totally to God.

The rest we can easily surmise. Think of the kind of love with which he wooed and won Mary, and the depth of the love they shared during their marriage.

It is no contradiction of Joseph’s manly holiness that he decided to divorce Mary when she was found to be with child. The important words of the Bible are that he planned to do this “quietly” because he was “a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame” (Matthew 1:19).

The just man was simply, joyfully, wholeheartedly obedient to God—in marrying Mary, in naming Jesus, in shepherding the precious pair to Egypt, in bringing them to Nazareth, in the undetermined number of years of quiet faith and courage.

    Reflection

The Bible tells us nothing of Joseph in the years after the return to Nazareth except the incident of finding Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2:41–51). Perhaps this can be taken to mean that God wants us to realize that the holiest family was like every other family, that the circumstances of life for the holiest family were like those of every family, so that when Jesus’ mysterious nature began to appear, people couldn’t believe that he came from such humble beginnings: “Is he not the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother named Mary…?” (Matthew 13:55a). It was almost as indignant as “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” (John 1:46b).
